About Us

My name is Chelsea. I am a sophomore at the University of Louisville. I love cats, tennis and hockey. I survived my first year at UofL! I made it through my service Living Learning Community and the school’s Honors Program. At the end of this past year, I became the Team Coordinator for Partners In Heath in the hopes of gaining more campus wide awarness for mental health issues.

Starting college away from home, surrounded by triggers, new people and responsibilities was really challenging. Heck, even high school was a struggle! However, I have really learned to advocate for and to take care of myself in many different types of situations. With the help of medication, UofL therapy and my amazing family’s support I am a functioning young adult.

I started TWAARP to tell other teens with OCD that you can do it! You will get through this! Although it may seem like a life time of never-ending obsessions and compulsions, you have support. I thought I was totally alone, but no one is alone. There are other teens and young adults out there ready to help you in your journey.

My friend Julie Burnfield has a podcast called Living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. At the Boston IOCDF Conference, she asked me if I would like to be on her podcast. So before I went of to the University of Louisville, I was interviewed by Julie and her husband Andy. So I put these up - you can click the boxes above to hear the episodes - so others can see that the thoughts they are having are far from abnormal, there are others that have these thoughts too. (Confession) I haven't listened to my episodes! So let me know what you think by emailing me!
